Politics, Not Down And Dirty

Mike Huckabee recently decided to pull an attack ad his team had developed to paint one of his opponents, Romney, in a negative way. According to this article, it was done just as Romney was starting to gain in the polls. Huckabee declared Saturday that he wasn’t going to fight a dirty campaign.

I say BRAVO Mr. Huckabee. It’s about time we get a candidate who will stick to his beliefs instead of caving in to the advisers and pollsters working for them. Early on Huckabee stuck to his guns in maintaining his position as a conservative and a Christian. Many of the dirt flingers have tried to paint Huckabee as bad as possible, but that’s just business as usual in the game of politics. But so far, I haven’t seen anything that can topple him from his positions. Unlike other candidates, he doesn’t waver in his position. For instance, when Giuliani was Mayor of New York, he did everything possible to destroy the Second Amendment right of people to bear arms.

He pushed the concept of suing gun manufacturers to eliminate as many firearms in private hands as possible. But now that he needs conservative support, he wants to act like a ‘good ole boy’ to the NRA and other organizations fighting to keep America free. Mike Huckabee is a strong supporter of the Second amendment, and he himself even holds a concealed handgun permit. Liberal leadership is slowly transforming what was once a strong, independent, and self sufficient country into a weak, dependent nation lacking needed resources to sustain its own economy.

While the opposition concentrates on Bush bashing and fault finding, Mike Huckabee concentrates on growing America. While he was Governor of Arkansas, he cut taxes over 100 times and left the state with a surplus of $850,000,000.00. I’m supporting him for President, and if he doesn’t make, which I pray he does, I’m extending him an invitation to come to Maine and run for Governor here. I don’t know about you, but Maine needs that kind of leadership.

Strength and independence. It’s the right formula for America, it’s the right formula for Maine.
