A Black Tax For A Green Day

No, it’s not a tax on blacks, it’s the new so called carbon credit scheme the UN has convinced everyone to cling to as the savior against the global warming fraud they also perpetrated. Carbon is black, so I’m going to call it the ‘black tax.’ Pirates and other thugs down through the ages have been referred to as black as well, so I have a precedent.

In the process of becoming interested in all of this climate change conundrum, I have been doing some extensive research on the subject and have discovered some very interesting things about the whole circus comrade Gore has dumped into our laps as a nation. Number one, I found it interesting that the term ‘Global Warming’ is not a term the United Nations uses. They are very careful to refer to the climactic process as simply ‘climate change’ which is actually what is going on today in the world. Not that it’s anything new. Climate change has been going on ever since the Earth was created all those eons ago.

Global Warming as a term was something developed by organizations called NGO’s, or Non-Governmental Agencies connected to the United Nations. Over the last decade and a half or so, looking for ways to finance their own agendas, while enhancing the global domination agenda of the UN, carbon trading has evolved into what may well become histories most prolific, and wealthiest trading scheme to be developed by mankind.

It’s difficult to track the whole carbon trading market and find out what the bottom line is with the idea behind it. But today, as we celebrate another Earth Day, we should take a look back at the 60’s hippie movement and the original Green Movement. It’s interesting to see how the people of that era changed throughout the years, many abandoning their ideals and ideas in exchange for lavish living and easy, comfortable lifestyles, all banked upon the environment. I remember as an early teen there were actually none of these green hippies living in the community I grew up in, but by the time I was in high school they had started to move in.

The message was simple, and one I look back on today and wish they had done a better job at marketing that message. The message was; ‘live simply, to simply live.’ An ideal many look back upon today in light of the whole carbon, or should I say anti-carbon movement. Comparing today’s pollution problems with that era is a futile game at best. Mostly because nobody listened to them. Living a life out of the norm, adhering to their own little communities of likeminded environmentalists, the world at large ignored them, and ignored the message they tried to spread. And thus the damages we suffer today to the environment grew from their lack of ability to spread the massage.

To be sure, many people connected to the philosophy, becoming more concerned with their own immediate environment, but the basic principals have been tilled back into the soil from which they first sprang from, considered by many in big business to be suitable as only so much fertilizer.

And today, the scenario repeats itself, with some changes, only on a much grander scale, in spite of the errant theories behind the false doctrine of manmade CO2 pollution. And as before, eventually society will turn on the true green movement, remembering only the cost and damage this fad has dumped upon them.

The politics behind the movement is propelling the green movement to certain destruction. While going through the numerous newsletters and links covering the issue this morning there seemed to be a singular goal in mind to the commentary concerning Earth Day ’08. They had little to do with promoting a green, clean environment, and everything to do with taking another opportunity to tromp all over George Bush. The green movement has become just another Bush bashing tool of the Socialist left, and little more.

But to get back to the ‘black tax,’ we really should become better educated as to the dangers lurking in the woods as we enter our current night of “global warming” terror. Maine is one of the states leaping into the abyss of carbon trading, and the taxpayers of the state of Maine know little of the impending tax increases this activity will require.

CO2 emissions, as a financial lure, have become the fastest growing commodity sector in the futures trading industry. They are traded just like wheat or soy and the price can be as volatile or as stable as the segment creating the commodity allows them to be.

Here’s what Wikipedia has to say about carbon credits…..

Carbon credits are a key component of national and international emissions trading schemes that have been implemented to mitigate global warming. They provide a way to reduce greenhouse effect emissions on an industrial scale by capping total annual emissions and letting the market assign a monetary value to any shortfall through trading. Credits can be exchanged between businesses or bought and sold in international markets at the prevailing market price. Credits can be used to finance carbon reduction schemes between trading partners and around the world.

So, we see that by this definition, the sole purpose of reducing Green House Gases, or GHG, particularly CO2 , is to generate income for a select group of people, or entities we call governments. The credits in question are a monetary levy placed on businesses in exchange for allowing them continue to pump pollutants into the atmosphere. Joe’s Plastic’s can continue to emit more CO2 without repercussions from the government, provided Joe purchases carbon credit from some other business who knows they won’t be polluting in excess of their prescribed rate of emissions. Great for Joe, but bad for those living downwind from the smokestacks constantly pouring that acrid smoke into the air, full of who knows what kind of crap.

A tax, by definition is a fee imposed on the public in exchange for a service or function provided by the government. These companies are paying out for these carbon credits so that the government will look the other way at their emissions. Ultimately, just like the burden of all of the other taxes and fees a business must absorb, these fees will be passed on to the consumer in the way of higher costs. And the UN will take this money, and spread the wealth around so that underdeveloped countries will grow stronger, while at the same time the countries who are footing the bills get weaker.

Here’s what the World Bank brags about on the carbon credits, and what the intended purpose of this carbon scam is really all about……….

The World Bank Carbon Finance Unit (CFU) uses money contributed by governments and companies in OECD countries to purchase project-based greenhouse gas emission reductions in developing countries and countries with economies in transition. The emission reductions are purchased through one of the CFU’s carbon funds on behalf of the contributor, and within the framework of the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) or Joint Implementation (JI).

And further in the same document………….

The World Bank’s carbon finance initiatives are an integral part of the Bank’s mission to reduce poverty through its environment and energy strategies. The threat climate change poses to long-term development and the ability of the poor to escape from poverty is of particular concern to the World Bank.

And in summary…………

The role of the Bank’s Carbon Finance Unit is to catalyze a global carbon market that reduces transaction costs, supports sustainable development and reaches and benefits the poorer communities of the developing world.

And in my summary, Carbon trading is merely redistribution of wealth. Wealth that we cannot afford to continue tom throw away. There has been no reductions overall of any nation, except the United States over the last decade. China, the world’s largest producer of airborne pollution is allowed to continue pumping poisons into the air, while knowingly exporting products containing innumerable hazardous substances, such as BHP, lead and other toxins.

We really should stop a moment and think of what will happen decades down the road. Are we going to forget all of the other pollutants we create in favor of reducing CO2 ? The new ‘black tax’ is truly a black rogue.

Genesis 1;28-31

28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
