Dark Skies for Maine…..

Unfortunately, the Bill known as the ‘Dark Skies Bill’ has passed both houses in Maine and was sent on to the good comrade for signing. Following the will of the UNs green machine instead of common sense and the will, as well as the well being and safety of the people of Maine, this inane piece of legislation will result in changes in the way new, and possibly existing developments are lighted after dark.

The bill in its final state, passed on Tuesday, and was weakened from an earlier version that called for uniform state standards for outdoor commercial lighting. The amendments call for a review of Maine’s existing commercial outdoor lighting standards so recommendations can be presented to lawmakers next January.

We could be facing some serious problems in some locations o the safety factor. For instance, a large mall may have to face severely restricted lighting resulting in darkened areas promoting muggings and rapes after the sun goes down. Might never happen, but why are these college educated morons taking that kind of chance?

Believe it or not, there is an actual International Dark Sky Association that promotes the end of light pollution. While not an official NGO of the Un they do seem to have some level of involvement in a consulting manner. The results of the study are supposed to be presented no later than September of 2010, so we have about a year and a half to wait and see what these boneheads come up with.

Meanwhile, the Collins-Snowe defection saga continues. Collins claimed she was surprised and disappointed by Specters change in party membership, but I don’t believe she is. Snowe, in her typical RINO fashion says that the Republican party needs to become more moderate in their platform and political process. What she really means is that they should become Leftinistas like she is.

Specters move is suggestive that he may be smart enough to realize he’ll never gain the votes needed to be a contender in the Pennsylvania Senate race, but since he seems to have been voting as a Democrat anyway, he’ll be a shoe in for that parties race. There is some speculation that Snowe, who begins her run for the torch next year, provided she foolishly decides to run again, may try to pull the same stunt.

I didn’t vote for her the last time around and I will most assuredly not vote for her the next time, either. I don’t trust her with a single vote. She does not in any way shape or form support a conservative agenda in this state beyond what she needs to collect needed votes for the party nominations.

Collins forced the addition of some six million dollars of flu vaccine to be removed from the stimulus package, as well it should have been, which surprised me. Maybe she’s looking forward to her next term in office? The Ay vote presented by Collins, Snowe, and Specter on the Stimulus Bill was a definite career killer. If they were freshmen Senators, first time through the hoops, it would have meant the political coffins for certain. But they’ve weaseled their way into the pockets of the Left, and have become valuable allies to the cause of socialism in this nation.

Wheeling and dealing have become the standard SOP for politicians in the nation’s capitol, and that’s too bad. We Americans suffer all the more for it.

With any luck the public will soon begin to see what a mistake we’ve made by allowing Obama to become our president. The Christian Science Monitor reports that the GDP has had its worst fall in 51 years. I’ve been saying for some time that we really need to keep an eye on our GDP. I think that this figure is the one that really suggests the true value of our currency in spite of what many believe to be some other figure. We cannot continue to import more than we export if we are ever to climb out of this abysmal debt pit the Democrat leadership has pulled us into. According to the many blogs and websites I’ve read over the last few days, our glorious savior, the Great B.O. has outspent all of the previous presidents since WWII. And he’s only been in office for 100 days! We have three years, two hundred and fifty some days to go of this socialist crap. Do you suppose we will wake up in time to put a stop to it, and reverse the damage the new majority has caused to this nation?

Will Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe become Democrats as well?

Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 28, 2009 CONTACT: J.P. Duffy or Maria Donovan, (866) FRC-NEWS

Senator Specter: Switching Parties or Coming Home?

Washington, D.C. – Today Senator Arlen Specter (?-Penn) switched political parties from Republican to Democrat.

Tom McClusky, Senior Vice President of FRC Action, the legislative arm of Family Research Council, had this to say:

Senator Specter‘s actions today come as no surprise. To paraphrase an old saying, ‘if it looks like a donkey, quacks like a donkey and votes like a donkey – then it is probably a donkey.’ This holds true for Senator Specter and the Democrats in the Senate.

“As a Republican, Senator Specter voted for taxpayer funding of destructive embryonic stem cell experimentation, for taxpayer funding of organizations that promote and perform abortions (including coercive abortions), for partial-birth abortion, for federalizing ‘hate crimes’ and for cloning.

“During this same time Senator Specter voted against covering unborn children in government insurance programs, against parental involvement when children seek an abortion, against school choice, against protecting marriage and even against the Boy Scouts of America!

“All these anti-family votes earned Senator Specter a lifetime average of 37 percent in FRC Action’s annual scorecard. The only Republican senators scoring less were Maine‘s Susan Collins (28 percent) and Olympia Snowe (25 percent.)

“I look forward to working with Senator Pat Toomey in the 112th Congress.”

This is a press release from the Family Research Council in my email box today. I’ve made mention of what can happen when one crosses that yellow line dividing the highway too many times, of too far, and this is just one of those results.

Sen. Specter became a fully fledged traitor to those who voted for him today, and the question remains to be asked; Will Maine’s Collins and Snowe follow suit as well?

Both of Maine’s Senators have records that decry their claims to being members of the Republican party. They have consistently leaned to the left of that yellow line, going further and further as the years have passed. The claim of trying to be voting in a bipartisan manner is no longer a valid claim.

Our Maine Senators have been the butt of many a joke, bordering upon embarrassment to the conservative voters in this state. It is time that they be replaced.

We conservatives must work together to install true conservative candidates in the upcoming election cycles. Candidates who value the US Constitution above and beyond the partisan favors that soil our government process today. We need to return to electing people who have a strong moral standing, and will not apologize for being right.

Our Senators do not vote to my best interest, nor in the best interest of those who have supported them in the past. They have consistently scored with low marks in every conservative rating I have read over the last few months. It is time that they be replaced. Who will take that place?

Senator Collins says she’s surprised, disappointed by Specter’s switch

I believe Collins is neither surprised, nor disappointed.

The battle for a decent America  is heating up. In the last few days we’ve read about the Miss America pageant and the controversy as one of the judges, calling himself Perez Hilton, went on a tirade because Miss California was brave enough to stand up for her faith and speak the truth. Hilton, an openly gay activist went on a childish tirade, as these sickos are want to do and bashed her in the media as he strewed his hate filled monologue into as many trash cans as he could.

Vermont has joined Massachusetts, Iowa, Connecticut and California with their embrasure of same sex marriages. Now Maine is debating that very same folly. It is time conservatives of Christian faith stop apologizing and start exposing the apostate church for what it really is. We need to get back to the basics and rebuild our moral foundations, and we cannot do that as long as we are willing to tolerate things that are contrary to scripture just because it’s a free country or we don’t want to rock the boat.

I clipped this email from an AFA request to sign a petition. Please help the cause by clicking onto the link below and filling out the petition request as well. And pass the petition around. The more people signing it the better.

PepsiCo intensifies support for gay agenda

PepsiCo sponsors explicit scene featuring two gays

April 24, 2009

Dear Dan,

When PepsiCo said it would continue to promote the gay agenda, it meant it. The latest promotion of the homosexual agenda by PepsiCo came during the April 19 episode of “Brothers and Sisters” on ABC. PepsiCo helped sponsor a very explicit, aggressive scene featuring two men.

You can see the video of the scene by clicking hereWarning, this scene is extremely graphic.

AFA has repeatedly asked PepsiCo to be neutral in the culture war, and PepsiCo has adamantly refused – choosing to promote the gay agenda, including same sex-marriage. Also, PepsiCo employees are required to attend diversity classes teaching them how to accept gay behavior as being normal and acceptable.

In the recent Miss USA pageant Perez Hilton, a homosexual activist who was one of the judges, asked Miss California where she stood on homosexual marriage. She gave a politically incorrect answer, saying marriage should be between one man and one woman. Shortly after the pageant, Hilton went on a hate-filled tirade against Miss California. You can see his behavior by clicking here.

PepsiCo has given over a million dollars to homosexual organizations that condone this kind of behavior.

Take Action!

Sign the Boycott Pepsi Pledge. After signing the pledge, please call Pepsi (914-253-2000 or 1-800-433-2652) and tell the company you will boycott its products until it stops promoting the homosexual agenda.
• Ask any shareholder you know to vote for the resolution.
• Call the Pepsi bottler nearest youand ask it to stop supporting the homosexual agenda.
• Pepsi’s products include Pepsi soft drinks, Frito-Lay chips and snacks (800-352-4477), Quaker Oats (800-367-6287), Tropicana (800-237-7799) and Gatorade (800-884-2867).
• Print the Boycott Pepsi Pledge and distribute it.
• Forward this e-mail to your friends and family so they will know about Pepsi’s support of the homosexual agenda. Millions of people are not aware of Pepsi’s support of homosexual organizations.

We need to start getting serious about taking America back from the Leftinistas who wish to see conservative ideology buried deep enough to never see daylight again. They are making some pretty good inroads against the truth, but they will never truly win, even if they do manage to muzzle the right.

Sign the petition and then go down to city hall and start getting involved. Join a committee, run for office and attend the town meetings. Show them we mean business.

I for one am now going to boycott Pepsi and their associated brands until they recant their support of the gay agenda, won’t you join the boycott as well?

It’s interesting to note the kinds of legislation that are gaining ground here in the US. On one front we have the issue of pharmacists handing out the so called morning after pill to 17 year old girls without prescription. If that’s such a good idea then how came we can’t get codeine directly from the pharmacist?  Or any other of the so called common scripts that have minimal side effects. That hasn’t hit a home run here in Maine yet, but I bet it’s on its way.

In a revisit to a story from last December, the PPH has an article;

Kidnap charges dropped, pair freed. After four months in jail, a man and woman accused of holding a Portland man captive pass lie detector tests and are released.

http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/elink/?252497

Just another example of poor people getting dumped on by the dark side of the force, AKA Police, I fear, but maybe not. If the article’s statements by the accused are true then it shows just how incompetent our state’s largest municipal PD really is. Belinda Libby, a homeless woman, and Peter Sullivan, also apparently fresh from a previous stint in jail, spent the last four months locked up based upon the accusation of a 67 year old man, whose identity wasn’t revealed in this article.

According to the article the pair were released after passing a lie detector test validating their claims of innocence, and since there was insufficient evidence to go to trial, the charges were dismissed. It took four months to arrange a lie detector test? Who’s kidding who here? Libby was charged with $2,000 dollars bail and Sullivan had to front a cool $7,500. Since neither one of them had a job or any assets to speak of, what moron would think these were reasonable amounts?

Appearances are that these two people spent four months behind bars for something they didn’t do. Amendment VI of the US constitution says In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial… I wouldn’t call sitting behind bars for four months on a case with no evidence part of the process for a speedy trial. I think it’s time we start reigning in the state’s law enforcement community. They have attained too much power, and yet have no cause to be responsible in the use, or abuse of that same power.

But the bigger battle taking place in Maine is the same sex marriage law being debated this week. Bad law no matter how you look at it. If gays want to get married let them live in Commyfornia. They seem to like that sort of sin and debauchery there in the ‘Golden State.’

Did you know that in Pacific Grove there is a law on the books establishing a $500 fine for molesting butterflies? Just goes to show what can happen in a state like that. Yes Siree Bob, Our left coast state can have all of them folks as far as I’m concerned.

In another developing bill the effort to abolish, or at least substantially change the LURC and their one sided eco-terrorist approach to taking away our lands while simultaneously embracing the new world order by invited UN control over our back yards. I’d like to see these socialists get kicked out of the state as well. We don’t need them, and we don’t need their ways of thinking.

People think that the Plum Creek deal was a lengthy public process, but I do not believe that. I think the deal was inked from day one. All of that political wrangling and media coverage had one singular purpose. That purpose was to make the theft of our future legitimate. Plum Creek should have been forced to follow the same permitting process that every other resident of the territory needs to follow to build or change the use of their land. The Lake Concept Proposal was a farce, plain and simple. We Mainers will learn far too late what a con job that was. Although those of us in the know have already spoken out and called the spade a spade.

Not that it does any good here in the independent socialist nation of Maine.
